Join us for a 3 day hands on woodworking course designed to develop your practical skills, build confidence with traditional techniques, and put your new knowledge into practice.

Over three days, you’ll learn some essential woodworking skills, explore a variety of joints, and develop your accuracy and craftsmanship through a series of practical exercises.

What you’ll learn:

  • Making a bench hook: Create a useful workshop aid while learning about accurate measuring, marking out, and safe working practices.

  • Woodworking joints: Learn and practise a selection of traditional joints, developing your understanding of how pieces of timber fit together.

  • Dowelling skills: Explore accurate drilling, alignment, and assembly techniques to produce strong, neat joints.

  • Putting it all together: Apply the skills you’ve learned to make a drop in seat frame, bringing the course to a practical and rewarding conclusion.

Course structure

The first two days are divided into morning and afternoon sessions, each focusing on different skills and techniques. The final day is dedicated to making a drop in seat frame, giving you the opportunity to put your learning into practice and create a finished project.

Whether you’re looking to develop existing skills or build a stronger foundation in woodworking, this course offers a practical introduction to traditional joinery, with plenty of opportunity to learn by doing.
